In this workshop, you will create a very personal mixed media mosaic self- portrait. What makes this self-portrait unique is that it will feature meaningful personal pieces, symbols and memorabilia unique to your life story. Your self-portrait may not look anything like you but will be all about you. You might include references to your family, your pets, your fondest memories, and symbols that represent various parts of your personality. With each new item you add into the art, you will be thinking about the meaning it has for you and what you want those viewing it to know about you. It can be whimsical or realistic or whatever you want it to be.
I will help you design your portrait and teach various mosaic methods, including but not limited to glass cutting, adhesives, grouting and finishing. At the finish of the workshop you will go home with a very special framed work of art all about you. No prior mosaic experience is required.
